The Silver Sea’s 293ft. hull accommodates large social areas and features a range of grand amenities, but without the associated formalities, making her a family friendly ship. Sailing at a speed of 17 knots, the M/V Galapagos Explorer II enables passengers to see more of Galapagos in less time. The ship also provides all the facilities and services to make the cruises enjoyable and comfortable.

The ship has 53 classically decorated suites accommodate up to 100 guests. These feature flat panel TV’s, wireless internet, air conditioning, private bathrooms with marble decorations and a small sitting area.

Relax in the Jacuzzi or make use of the solarium, swimming pool, library and massage suite. There is a choice of 3 elegant bars, one featuring a grand piano. A large dining room serves buffet breakfast and sit down dinner, lunch is generally served buffet style in the al fresco dining area. There is more than enough room out on deck to lounge or admire your surroundings from the observation area.

Experience close encounters with the inquisitive wildlife in small groups headed by one of the 6 handpicked and highly knowledgeable naturalist guides. Entertaining and educational nightly briefings take place in the lecture room complete with audio/visual equipment, in preparation for your preceding day of expeditions.

Education is not just limited to the islands with a range of classes on offer: Spanish, cooking, cocktail making and even towel folding. Snorkeling equipment is available or a glass bottom boat for those who prefer to stay dry.

There is a doctor on board. Naturalist guides are top-notch and help make your Galapagos experience a rewarding education in nature and wildlife. There is a naturalist room, where visitors can watch videos, read books, look at pictures and maps all related to the Galapagos Islands. One of the unique offerings the Explorer also provides is the opportunity for individuals to sit with one of the naturalists one-on-one to discuss anything visitors wish to know about the Galapagos. The Galapagos Explorer II is the only vessel in the islands to have one of the scientists from the Darwin Station travel during each departure. This is the most deluxe ship cruising the islands.

The Galapagos Explorer II is a luxury ship that offers only suites. The suites have an average of 250m2 and are comfortable and maintain the harmony of the environment. They offer five categories of suites: Renaissance Balcony, Majestic Balcony, Deluxe Balcony, Renaissance Panoramic, and Classical, all maintain a classic and elegant line, and while you feel the best comfort and attentions during your cruise.
