Bartolome Island (Bartolomew)

Land surface: 1.2 km2
Elevation: 114 m

Is located off the eastern shore of James Island across Sullivan Bay. This impressive little island has a landscape of a real volcanic desolation: tuff cones, spatter cones, scoria formations and black volcanic sand. A wood straiway trail leads to the summit of the central volcano, here you will have an extraordinary view of the surrounding islands, including Sullivan Bay and the eroded tuff cone of Pinnacle Rock (a vertical rock formation of hardened ash).
