Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1
Upon your arrival to the capital of Ecuador, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your charming hotel in Quito, where you will receive your full itinerary and information about Ecuador and your trip.
Day 2 - Quito to Esmeraldas
We will depart from Quito and travel through the western Andes into the ‘emerald province’ of Esmeraldas. In the afternoon we will practice our paddling techniques in order to become more familiar with our kayaks and gear. We will have the opportunity to relax at a beachfront hotel, preparing both mentally and physically for our paddling adventure. Accommodation (L, D)
Day 3 - Sea Kayak Portete to Mompiche
We will begin the expedition by exploring the famous coastal mangroves, uninhabited beaches and fishing villages along the coast. The day’s destination is Mompiche, a secluded coastal town, with lunch served on the way. In the afternoon, we enjoy the facilities of our beachfront lodge. (B, L, D)
Day 4 - Sea Kayak to Estero del Platano
On our four day of kayaking, we continue north through reefs and stunning coastal scenery. We’ll make our way to the Estero del Platano, an estuary with tropical vegetation and an ancient fishing village. Abundant marine birds, such as boobies, frigates and pelicans will accompany us throughout the day. In the afternoon, we transfer or fly back to Quito. (B, L, D)
Day 5
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home (B).
