Amazon & Coastal Ecuador - 12 Days

The Coast and Amazon Rainforest tour package is a great itinerary for those who want to visit the amazing Amazon rainforest and enjoy the beaches and coastal region of the country. A trip to the primary Amazon provides an opportunity to learn about the flora and fauna of this amazing area of the world, home of thousands species of animals and plants while becoming one with nature. Once you return from the Amazon, you will continue to the Esmeraldas province, in the north of Ecuador, to enjoy a stay at an all-inclusive beach resort. Here, you can relax and enjoy the great Ecuadorian cuisine and hospitality, and enjoy your time under the sun.

Day 1 - Transfer in Quito

When you arrive in Ecuador, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your charming hotel in Quito.

Day 2 - City tour in Quito & the Middle of the World visit

After breakfast you will visit “Quito”, the most beautiful and colonial city in South America, declared by UNESCO part of the Cultural Heritage of mankind. First, you will explore the colonial part of the city starting at the Independence square, where the presidential palace, the city hall, the Sagrario church and the Cathedral stand. You will then visit San Francisco church and museum-monastery (1535), the San Agustin monastery and the finest example of baroque art in America, La Compañía church (1605) and its breathtaking gilded altars. After this, your next stop will be the art & crafts gallery of Tianguez and finally, a drive up to the Panecillo hill to enjoy an amazing view of Quito from above, and admire the only winged-Virgin statue in South America. This is a great spot to take pictures above Quito.

After visiting the Colonial center of Quito you will arrive to the Middle of the World Monument and Museum, which is located 25 km north of Ecuador’s capital. There you will find the monument on the equatorial line marking latitude 0° 0´0”, where you will have the opportunity to stand in both hemispheres and take wonderful pictures. Here you can also visit the ethnographic museum on site as well.

Day 3 - Otavalo Indian Market & Peguche waterfall visit

Today you will visit the biggest and most colorful indigenous market in Latin America, the famous Otavalo. Its market is famous around the world for its colorful tapestries, hand-knitted wool sweaters, native paintings, wood carvings, silver jewelry, woolen and straw hats, and much more at bargain prices. After this, you will go to the Peguche Waterfall near Otavalo, where you will arrive after a refreshing walk. In the afternoon you will return to Quito, enjoying the rural landscape.

Days 4 to 7 - Amazon Rain Forest tour

Your jungle experience starts today! You will be transfered to the airport to take a brief flight east of Quito to the jungle town of Coca. After the flight, you will take a canoe ride to arrive to the Lodge located in a Primary Rainforest. Here you will enjoy rare and exotic wildlife with intriguing insects, unique species of birds and butterflies and magical sceneries. During the next 4 days you will dive into one of the most diverse, unique and richest rainforest environments in the world. Explore this gigantic and mysterious jungle visiting the rain forest tower (135 ft). You will also visit Ecuador’s largest butterfly farm and the parrot clay lick, which attracts a host of colorful birds. Meet native communities that have inhabited in this land for over 10,000 years. You will find specially designed trails for bird watching and our specialist guide will help you unveil the secrets of the rainforest making the best of your jungle journey.

On the morning of the 7th day, you will be transfer to the airport to return to Quito.

Days 8 to 11 - Free time in Royal Decameron Mompiche Resort

In the morning you will take a brief flight to Esmeraldas. On arrival at the destination you will be driven to the Royal Decameron Mompiche resort, where you will spend the next 4 days. This resort is located about 105 miles away from General Rivadeneira Airport in “the green” Esmeraldas Province. It was named Esmeraldas because of its natural beauty, surrounded by a humid tropical forest and hundreds of kilometers of white sand beaches known world-wide to aquatic sports lovers, with an average temperature of 28° C all year round. In the Resort you can find all the amenities and services you need, including all-inclusive meals, 1 International buffet, 7 bars, snacks, and unlimited domestic alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. You will also enjoy daily activities program, non-motorized water sports, kayaks & canoes, introductory diving clinics in the pool, Gym, beach towels and chairs. The Beach club is located on Portete Island, only 10 minutes away, and transportation is included. The resort also has tennis, soccer and beach volleyball facilities as well as evening entertainment, discotheque with unlimited domestic drinks. The resort also has a theater with day and evening shows and activities.

In the morning of the 11th day, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back to Quito.

Day 12 - Transfer out
