TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1 - Transfer in Quito

When you arrive in Ecuador, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your charming hotel in colonial Quito.

Day 2 - Colonial city tour & Middle of the World visit

On your first day, you will discover Quito, one of the most beautiful colonial cities in South America and declared by UNESCO as part of Cultural Heritage of mankind. Fist, you will explore the colonial part of the city, starting at the Independence Square with the presidential palace and the city hall.

Afterwards, you will visit San Francisco church and museum-monastery (1535), and the finest example of baroque art in America: La Compañía church (1605) with its breathtaking gilded altars. Subsequently you will visit the impressive cathedral and drive up to the Panecillo Hill to enjoy an amazing view of Quito and admire the only winged-Virgin statue in South America. This is also a great spot for taking pictures of Quito.

After visiting the colonial center of Quito you will go to the Middle of the World Monument, which is located 25 km north of Ecuador’s capital at latitude 0° 0´0”. You will have the opportunity to stand in both hemispheres and take wonderful pictures. Here you can also visit the ethnographic museum on site where you can learn about local cultures and challenge gravity. At the end of your tour you will be transferred to Mindo Cloud Fortes to overnight.

Day 3 - Cloud Forest Tour

Today you will explore the Mindo area to discover the cloud forest; a beautiful area between the Andes and the Pacific Coast. Here the clouds and trees blend in a tapestry of mystery and magic, home to hundreds of species of plants, birds and other animals.

Mindo is an area with a high number of birds, therefore it is the perfect place for bird watching! Early in the morning you will enjoy a bird watching tour in which you very likely will see different types of humming birds, toucans and other exotic species. This hike is a great warming up for the hikes that are planned the coming week, because Mindo is located at a moderate altitude at 2,100 meters. You will have half a day hike this day. Then you will be transferred back to Quito to overnight.

Day 4 - Mindo Tour

In the morning you will go on adventure. Mindo is a perfect place for canopy. Under guidance of a professional guide and with secure equipment you will experience the beautiful rainforest from a different perspective (zip lining price is not included). Also, you will visit the butterfly farm with its many exotic species.

DAY 5 to 8 - Galapagos Islands Cruise

After an early breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to the magical Galapagos Islands. Your flight will take approximately 2 hours. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the cruise staff and brought to your boat to start your Galapagos adventure. The coming days you can explore the Galapagos Islands cruising around the islands in a yacht. With both options, you will participate in excursions to different islands to observe wildlife while your licensed guide shares his knowledge about the wonderful Galapagos archipelago.

DAY 8 - Fly Back To Quito

In the morning of the last day of your cruise, you will be brought to the airport for your return flight to Quito. Upon arrival to Quito, you will be met by your Latin Frontiers representative and transferred to your hotel for your last night in Ecuador.

DAY 9 - Fly to Lima - Transfer in Lima

This day you will be transferred to Quito´s airport to take an international flight to Peru. When you arrive in Lima, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your charming hotel in the center of the city,

DAY 10 - Historical City Tour in Lima

Today you will visit the historical center of Lima; a UNESCO world heritage site. Enjoy a half-day private tour showcasing the contrast between old and new. Visit the historic downtown district filled with beautiful colonial architecture and impressive squares with manicured gardens and statues of Peru’s illustrious heroes. Explore the cathedral, Plaza de Armas (main square), San Francisco convent, and more. You’ll also visit the upscale coastal Miraflores district, strolling along the green clifftop Malécon park and an ancient olive grove in nearby San Isidro.

After lunch (not included), you will have some time with your guide to show you the city as a local depending on your interest, visit some galleries, do some souvenir shopping, visit a local market, etc!

DAY 11 - Flight to Cusco & transfer to Sacred Valley

This morning, your driver will bring you to the airport for your flight to Cusco (not included).

From Cusco, enjoy a scenic private drive to the Sacred Valley. Along the way, you will make stops to visit llamas and alpacas at Awanacancha, and to explore the fascinating Pisac ruins and artisanal market.

Your flight needs to arrive to Cusco by 11am at the latest

Day 12 - Sacred Valley of the Incas

This morning, you will have a second day to visit the Sacred Valley.

Based on your interests, today you can choose from a selection of full-day, private Sacred Valley tours. Options include a trip to the historically significant Ollantaytambo fortress, an immersive experience visiting Chinchero town and market, or an excursion to the iconic Incan sites of the Maras salt pans and the Moray ringed terraces.

Day 13 - Machu Picchu: Lost City of the Incas tour

Today you will visit the famous Machu Picchu Inca ruins. Early in the morning you will travel from Cusco to the village Aguas Calientes by train. Apart from hiking, this is the only way to reach Machu Picchu. On the way you can enjoy beautiful landscapes and traditional entertainment.

Upon arrival to the base of the mountain, take a winding bus ride to the famed Inca fortress for a half-day tour. Your expert guide will lead you through Machu Picchu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has been astonishing explorers and travelers for years. Learn about the Incas who built the site, as you visit the temples, terraces, and all the best spots for photos. After a thorough exploration of the ruins, return via train to the Sacred Valley for the drive back to Cusco.

Day 14 -Cusco City tour

Today you will visit the beautiful city of Cusco, which has both colonial and Inca influences. It is a city with a lot of history, arts and folklore.

Wander through the cobblestone streets of the Inca capital empire in South America, Cusco. On this half-day city tour you will visit the historical landmarks of the city center including the main plaza, Plaza de Armas, the Spanish colonial Santo Domingo Cathedral, and the Incan temple of Qoricancha. You will also visit the archaeological sites surrounding the city including the hill-top Sacsayhuaman with polished stones and panoramic views, the former military site of Puca Pucara, Quenqo temple, and the mysterious Tambomachay.At night you can wander around the city with its nice restaurants and great artisanal products.

Day 15 -Transfer out

After breakfast, depending on your flight schedule, you will be brought to the airport of Cusco for your flight back home. (Breakfast)
